Well he ended "Road Rules" in 2003 and his first role in Ghost Whisperer he got in early 2007. So, I would bet, according to what I know about acting-classes here in Germany, he spent the most time studying and learning. In one interview he said that he also did some theater, maybe during those courses, don't know. Over here the education is somewhere between three and four years, depends on what kind of actor you will become and if you will take extra-classes in Speaking (dubbing) and Singing (dancing).

I love how this season has given David the chance to show off his acting talent. He'd make a really good bad guy some day.

I think they may take him a little to a "bad guy" road in future seasons. He is a Grimm. Grimms used to be killers, hunters, mercenaries. They obviously had their own rules (as did Wesen or Royals) and I would like to see some Grimms to come to Portland to tell Nick that they are not happy about the way he is handling things. He could listen to his blood (and probably DNA). You could see glimpses of it in the mid-season finale when he looked at Renard. He was ready to kill him. If something should happen to Juliette, Monroe or Hank, I am sure he wouldn´t hesitate to go into a full Grimm mode.
