I am dying for a rewatch of the new series (my favourites are Donna and Rory) but I swore to watch it all in a proper order so I just have to finish the classic series first (I am weird that way )

Just returned because I finally found the second season: The Borgias. Godness, Francois Arnaud is simply awesome as Cesare! And Jeremy Irons as Pope Alexander ... hehehe, to quote Monroe: "Sometimes he's a little sidetracked." Yep, especially when it comes to femaleness . Good to know there will be a third season

I love The Borgias!! It was sad to see the lovely David Oakes killed off but Juan really had to go! lol Oookay, I'm in the middle of the season so ... you spoilered me! But yeah, it is a great show, in my opinion. And I love how TPTB is trying to put everything together, facts and rumours and ... hehe, I think they've read the same mangas with all the Cesare/Michelotto ;D. I have to say in season 2 I really love the development of Lucrezia and all the woman-power. My, I need some "Threesomeness"-art from the ladies! Lucrezia's baking-lesson was so great LOL! Don't know if you know but there's also another show around "Borgias", produced by German TV. It's more about the facts and there's definetely not so much fun around like I have watching Jeremy Irons and Co. Sadly is that "The Borgias" got a lot of critic over here, especially because of this other show (which I don't really like, watched one episode and ... nah, not my cup of tea).

Ooops, sorry. I thought you'd seen the whole season!!! Well, you knew it had to come some time because history does imply that Cesare killed his brother. Cesare was much more wicked than Giovanni (aka Juan), so the history books say.

Cesare was much more wicked than Giovanni (aka Juan), so the history books say. Yup, it's true that Cesare killed his brother (or was involved). And ... well, after what happened because of Juan so far - well, I'm really wondering if he was this ... not so nice person in reality too. I mean, as far as I know (read some books about the Borgias and also about the Medici, another family of interest for me ;D) this kind of relationship between Cesare and Lucrezia seems to be true. Could be that Juan was jealous like the show is telling - or he was nuts too like the rest of the family . Cesare definetely IS an interesting historical character. Enjoyed he to be the handler for Pope Alexander or (like Francois Arnaud is doing the character) did he do what he had to do to keep the family save? Or both? BTW, I just checked IMDB ... WHAT? This guy isn't even 30? OMG! BTW, 2007 seemed to be a good year for upcoming actors . David started his actor-carreer, also Francois ... yep, definetely a good year ;D

I think he wanted to defend his family's reputation but I also think he enjoyed the power. You know what they say, power corrupts! I think gaining power was important to people in 15th Century Italy so he had to be that ruthless to stay on top. The show's tagline is so very true, though, they really were the original crime family!

I agree with you. Power corrupts definetely. You have to learn how to use it and that takes time and a special kind of character. So, I'm done with the second season - great cliffhanger! Awesome season! So much happened and I hope we will see one or two of the characters again. As far as I remember Alexander survived the first attempt to poisen him so I'm pretty sure he will survive. But it will be interesting how the interaction between the family member (especially between Rodrigo and Cesare) will turn out now that Rodrigo knows Cesare killed Juan. I don't buy this "you are too much like me"-thing.

I reckon Rodrigo will survive too and he'll be wanting revenge. He did seem to be reconciling a little with Cesare before he was poisoned so I'm hoping he'll put his faith back in him and let him be his soldier. They'll all have an idea who sent the poison so I'm sure they'll all be wanting Del la Rovere dead. Although, that'll never happen as I'm sure I remember reading that, according to history, he becomes pope at some point in the future.

Mh, to me he looked completely nuts before he was poisened but I think half the time he's insane . I like how JI is taking the character and, well, somewhere he was right about the "mirror-thing": Cesare is only barely able to stand women - and he definetely has something with strong women . Good to know that Katharina's will wasn't broken and that Cesare brought her son back home. Maybe she will be able to ignore what Juan had done to her son. But ... it's not the best thing to get involved with the Borgias so far.

I just finished watching Being Human and as usual, with British shows, the ending was "what the hell" I loved it and I have to say, I loved the later trio more than the previous one. Alex was great (while I never really liked Annie) and Hal was so much more fun than Mitchell. I am sorry they couldnĀ“t have one more season with them. I would love to know what Whithouse meant by the last shot...did they lose? Did they die?
